HOW DO I USE IT?
How do I use the Electronic Labour Exchange?
The Electronic Labour Exchange uses common definitions of skills
and experience for each job. Once you've accessed the Electronic
Labour Exchange, you must create a job profile that is related to your needs,
or a skill profile that describes your experience. You will use the
information in that profile to search for candidates or for a job.
Whether you are a job seeker looking for a job that matches your skills, or
an employer looking for a candidate to fill a job, you have a choice of three
options once you have accessed the Electronic Labour Exchange:
- You can create one or more profiles, save them, then return to them later on.
- You can advertise your profiles to maximise exposure.
- You can perform a job match to see if there are any profiles matching yours.
It's easy to use the Electronic Labour Exchange. Follow
the instructions on each page. As you move along, the Electronic
Labour Exchange will ask you to select a button or enter some
information.
If you have difficulty or require more information about a topic, select the
HELP button on any page.
Creating a profile
To create a profile, you enter the job title for the job or the
skills you want to profile, and the Electronic Labour Exchange will display
a checklist that contains standard categories such as education, experience,
specific and generic skills. You will be asked to complete the checklist by
selecting the appropriate boxes in each of the categories.
Usercode and password
You profiles are your own, and only you can make changes to them. To ensure
this, the Electronic Labour Exchange will ask you to create a usercode and
password that will be unique to you. You can then have access to your
profiles at any time.
